On that very night, Ralph and Simon carried Percival into the shelter that they have built. By now they have slept peacefully in their hand made shelter. However, when they were sleeping there was an airplane battle in the starry night sky. It was so high above and far from their shelter that the loudest explosion did not wake them up. A dead pilot was drifting from the destroyed plane down on a parachute and land right next to the fire on the mountain top.
As the sun rose over the horizon, the twins 'Sam and Eric' heard noises from a rock plummeting down the side of the mountain. The two boys then pointed out something in the corner of their eyes at the top of the mountain and was crippled by fear. They saw a dead pilot in the shadows. It was sitting in an upright position, the wind blew the parachute and assumed they were wings. Promptly, they ran back to the other in terror and explaining that they were so close to be captured by the beast. Both the twins, were describing that the beast had sharp teeth, claws, gigantic wings and evil shaped eyes. Ralph called for a meeting, everyone gathered around and in an instant the meeting was all fired up. At the meeting Jack starts to question Ralph's decision, mocks Piggy and tells the group that the conch is useless. In the boys eyes, it felt like Jack has taken over Ralph leadership, but with a twist of a events he wins everyone hearts. They all decided to go hunting for the beast and kill it for once and for all. Ralph and the 'biguns' went off in the forest to go searching. Piggy stayed behind to after the terrified littluns. As they were walking something caught there attention, there was a rock that shaped like a stone, and assumed that it could've been the beast's secret hideout. |
Prediction:
I predict that in the very next chapter that Ralph and the 'biguns' will go wander off around the beats hideout area and tries to kill it. I also I believe that maybe they will have an argument about Ralph being chief and who is better between Ralph and Jack. Furthermore, when the boys are wandering around trying to track down the beast, maybe the beast has arrived at the camp where Ralph have left the littluns with Piggy.
Opinion:
In my opinion, this chapter is very intriguing and I am started to get into this book. But still the book is still predictable and hope I get proven wrong and there will be a big, unexpected twist that I wont see coming. This chapter has kind of spooked me out, as if i was on the mountain and saw a figure I would've ran away, therefore this is my type of book where I like to get scared.
